editors note: Not all our reporting guides fly fish 100% of the time.  Ask Capt. Jack about flyfishing over shipwrecks.
The fishing in Marathon has been hot! Offshore we have been catching sailfish, dolphin and tuna.  They have been coming through in the 120-300 feet of water.  On the color change has been your best bet for sails and dolphin.  Slow trolling live pilchards and live ballyhoo has been your best bait.

We have been getting a few cold fronts moving through so that is pushing the sailfish and cobias down to us.  The cobias have showed up on the Gulf wrecks along with the good winter snappers and grouper.  The kingfish in the 30 plus pound range has been a daily event in the Gulf. While fishing for the cobias, and grouper we have been catching many kings on live blue runners and live pilchards.

As for the reef with the strong North winds we have been fishing on the deep and shallow reefs.  On the deep reefs we have been catching yellowtail snapper, grouper, big amberjacks, big bull sharks, and kingfish.  On the shallow reefs we have been catching big mangrove snapper, red grouper, and spanish mackerel and a few mutton snapper.

The winter is always great fishing here in the Keys so if you have the chance come on down!

That's it for now!
