The Pompano are back! And so are the Spanish Mackerel and the Jack Crevalle. You’ll see the sand flea rakes out in full force on the beach and the anglers up and out before daylight to hook up on their favorite fighting Pompano. They’re also pretty darn good to eat. The water temperature has reached the 70 degree mark and it’s all starting to happen now. Guides are skinny after the long winter and hoping that you’ll take advantage of this early season fishing bonanza. Come on down!

The photo is of John Morrow with a Permit he caught on a fly (one of the toughest fish to catch on fly) on day One of his South Florida Fantasy trip with Capt. Tommy Robinson. John & Tommy fished the last 4 days of February out of Key West and the first 3 days of March in the Everglades and hooked up on Permit, Jacks, Tarpon, Redfish and Snook. You will find additional photos of his and his dad’s fish in our website photo album by Tuesday pm. Also be sure to check out "Happy Cantor" - David’s Permit was his own world record caught on his spur of the moment Keys trip.

Nathan reported seeing two huge schools of redfish collide under his boat last week and estimates there were about a thousand fish combined. He called it a Redfish Earthquake! Jason is totally fired up about the Trout fishing - they’ve also heated up with this warmer water temperature. Chris got home Saturday from the Glades with tales of the best Snook season in memory and with a couple rolls of film I dropped off this afternoon for processing. By the way, due to a cancellation - Chris is open through Saturday this week. He also has Easter week open. Tommy arrives Sunday after being away from home since January 14th. He hits the ground (or better yet the water) running but he has a few days open this month if you want to hook up.

There’s no fool like an April Fool!!
