Fall striped bass fishing is in full swing on the waters of
the Albemarle Sound. Harvest season is open on Friday, Saturday,
Sunday, and Wednesday. Boat traffic around the Manns Harbor Bridge
will be heavy on harvest days, and almost non existent on the remained of
the days.
Almost any chartreuse fly will take all the 1 to 4 pound striped bass you can stand to pull in. If you wished to work that hard, it is possible to catch and release 50 or more fish per day. During the middle of the day sinking lines are producing many more fish, but at sunup and sun down, you will find opportunities to take fish on poppers.
